My last session for 2013 was lots of fun! I met Lisa at the river early, who I have known since Kindergarten ( so just a few years ) her two cool kids with their Bubble wands, and Lisa’s Parents.
We captured lots of smiley images of big brother T and captured more candid shots of Miss C. The fun about family portraits is that the children’s ages more often than not dictate how the session is run. Most 2 year olds don’t sit still for long, so giving them an activity and waiting patiently for them to be zoned into what they are doing so that they forget I’m there is the plan! With 5-6 year olds they love being in control of where they have their photo taken so if they want it on the top rail of the fence or up a tree! Guess what, thats where we take the shot.
Every image has a story behind it, it will bring up a memory of what the child said or how they reacted. I love the look on the parents faces when they realise that we captured 1/250 of a second and that in that moment it was the face the child always pulls, or OHHH don’t they look like ? ( insert various relatives ) in that one. An image is a moment in time that sometimes we don’t see with our bare eyes as the children move so fast. For this session Lisa and her Mum chose 150 images that they loved, which is a great feeling!
I can’t wait to see the finished Albums and Framed prints from this session. For now here is a large share but really a small selection of some of the favourites from the morning!
